Safari A - The 'Great Migration' - 10 days

Safari - lions. The Masai Mara Game Reserve, an extension of the Serengeti Plains, covers an area of 250 sq. miles. With its richness in diverse wildlife it is one of the best game viewing reserves throughout the year. Each year from July until October its attraction is increased by a unique nature spectacle: The Great Migration. Millions of wildebeest migrate in July from the bordering Serengeti into the Masai Mara in search of fresh grass. The wildebeest move in long lines through the Mara until October when they cross back into the Serengeti. Zebras and antelopes join the migration.

Perhaps the most famous wildlife spectacle in the world is the crossing of the Mara River by the wildebeeste in herds of hundreds and even thousands. Crocodiles wait for their prey on the shore or in the water and other predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas await this great food bonanza. Click here for prices.

DAY 6 - 9: MASAI MARA
Game drives throughout the Masai Mara. The first day we will locate wildebeest gathering in large groups near the Mara River, ready to cross. Once we have found a group we shall stay with them in expectation of watching this spectacle. Up to now most of our groups have had the luck to watch, film and/or photograph this highlight. The chances to come across a kill are also very high. There is plenty of time to see all kinds of game and as said before - the Mara is at its best in abundance of wildlife during migration time.
